World Teachers’ Day
On October 5, 2011, all teachers worldwide have celebrated the World Teachers’ Day. This is a way of recognizing the unending commitment and dedication of the teachers in their chosen vocation. It is a day
where students/pupils have
given tribute to their respective
mentors.
Such recognition of the students have touched the emotions of the teachers not because they’re given presents but because they have valued
the efforts exerted by their teachers to them.
The celebration has a theme: “My teacher, my hero”. The students held a program and showcased many talents to entertain the teachers.
The program is a collaboration of the Supreme Pupils Government (SPG) and the Parents and Teachers Association (PTA). It’s amazing to witness those little children showing their prowess in dancing, singing and hosting.
Aside from entertaining the teachers, they also hold a card making contest and poster making contest which participated by both primary and intermediate levels.
We, the teachers in St. Jude Elementary School are very grateful that our efforts are being recognized by our pupils/students and parents. We’re proud not because we’re imparting knowledge, but because we have touched and changed their lives. The pupils as “student teachers”
